Sturbridge Worship
Center is a community of believers committed to a Biblical lifestyle
that manifests itself in passionate worship, the power of the Holy
Spirit, a lifestyle of love and holiness and a commitment to personal
and corporate prayer. Our vision is to be a New Testament church
that is consistently moving towards a more complete manifestation
of the
fullness of Christ in “body” ministry, as described in Ephesians
4:11-16. We believe that every believer is called to be a “minister” as
the outflow of our Christianity and we seek to create an environment
that equips, encourages and releases each member to find their proper
place of expression in the Lord’s body!
THE MINISTRIES OF STURBRIDGE WORSHIP CENTER
Corporate Worship - Currently we meet together for worship Sunday
mornings at 9:30am. The children participate with us during the
musical portion of the service and then are dismissed into the
care of the children’s church workers during the preaching
portions of the service. All children return to the sanctuary at
approximately 11:30 each Sunday morning.
Intercessory Prayer / House of Prayer - Part of our function as
a local fellowship is to engage in a lifestyle of corporate intercession
for the regional body of Christ and for revival amongst the unbelieving
community. We have daily prayer meetings throughout the week and
it is our desire for and counsel to our local church body that every
member be involved in a minimum of one prayer meeting each week.
Children’s Ministry - During this season of our life as
a church we are operating out of a children’s church format
as opposed to a traditional Sunday School setting. The children meet
together from a variety of ages and together they engage in worship,
prayer and the word of God in a context that ministers to their individual
needs. A.) Kid’s night! As a part of our children’s ministry
there is currently a monthly kid’s night here at the church
for children ages 8-12. This night is a night of fun, discipleship
and evangelism that is very unique and different each month.
Altar Ministry - There is altar ministry available after every
service in the event that you need personal prayer for healing, have
need of personal ministry or need a saint to agree with you in prayer
for a specific need that concerns you. We have specified times of
altar ministry after many of our services but even when there is
no formal time of prayer ministry, please feel free to come forward
and request personal ministry. Pastor Dan will gladly assist you
by directing you to one of the altar ministry workers who can care
for you.
Home Fellowship Groups - Home Fellowship Groups play a vital part
in our framework of body life and we encourage every person who considers
Sturbridge Worship Center their church home to participate weekly
in a home fellowship group. It is through the means of the home fellowship
groups that much of our discipleship, relationship development and
personal care takes place. There are fliers available in the downstairs
main foyer, in the information center that will introduce you to
the different groups and provide you with information as to times,
locations and directions.
Missions - Sturbridge Worship Center currently supports numerous
missionaries and regional ministries such as Teen Challenge. We habitually
invest a percentage of our church income into supporting and encouraging
other ministries. We believe that God gives to the giver!
Conferences - Here at Sturbridge Worship Center we frequently
serve the larger body of Christ through hosting regional conferences
and training events. By this means we develop greater networking
in the regional body of Christ, as well as strengthen the heart of
servanthood within our own local congregation as we play host to
saints from around New England and at times beyond.
Outreach Ministries - Our church is active in various forms of
ministry to both the community and the body of Christ, through acts
of service, music ministry and acts of compassion.
Counseling Ministries - Sturbridge Worship Center has various
counseling ministries available to serve you. Our counselors are
lay counselors not professional counselors, and all counseling is
provided as a volunteer service to you.
Leadership Development - Pastor Dan is very committed to training
and releasing leaders into the body of Christ. As a part of that
we have a group called the Sturbridge Worship Center Leadership Development
group that meets monthly as well as goes on training retreats together
for personal enrichment. This group is focused on training, personal
wholeness, and relationship skills development as preparation for
fruitful ministry. Ephesians 4:11-13 is our focus scripture.
Tape and Video Ministry - Sturbridge Worship Center is currently
audio taping all of our normal church services, as well as most special
functions that take place as a ministry of the church. We are also
developing a video ministry that, at this time, is reserved for our
conferences and special training events. As this aspect of the ministry
develops we will endeavor to video all of our services with a future
goal of placing the church service on regional cable television.
If you are touched by one of the church services or miss a message
that you would like to acquire, you may purchase cassettes and videos
through the church book store.
Youth / Young Adult Ministry - Our youth and young adult ministry
is consistently changing and evolving as our church grows and changes.
At this time we are holding a monthly youth and young adults night.
This meeting is open to all those 13- 28 years of age and is geared
towards the needs of this generation of young people both through
ministry, fellowship and fun.
