Our last Mission Trip to Haiti took place between Dec 31 2007 and Jan 12 2008. With a team of 21 people we worked with Pastor Lex & Renee Edme of “Mission of Hope” in Grand Guave. Prior to the trip we shipped three containers of food to Haiti for food distribution and were able to hand out 66 000 lb of food during the entire trip. In addition to a 3-day “Leadership School” that we held at the local church every day included the mentioned food distribution in combination with sharing the gospel as well as medical clinics and kids activities at different locations around the city as well as other places like Jacmel, Leogane, Mirliton and Les Cayes.
Even though the trip was very demanding both physically and emotionally we saw the hand of God in everything we did. In contrast to the previous years, we this time set out for Haiti without a detailed idea of how the many different projects we had planned would come true and we came back with a vision!!!
This is the Orphanage in Leogane/Haiti that we visited. Almost 250 children most of them between ages 3-8 live under the worst circumstances. One building with an unfinished concrete floor is the place where the kids live, eat and sleep and a plain incredibly dirty yard the only place for the kids to be during the day. They have no toys and nothing to do. Water and electricity are just available with the generator that broke more than two months ago. Most of the children have scabies and are malnourished.
We spent the time there doing medical clinics, providing and distributing food as well as water and playing with the kids. God really put this place on our hearts and we hope God stirs you up as you watch this video to get involved in our efforts to increase the living situation for these children.
